Skate Yorkton wins two provincial titles

Skate Yorkton is proud to announce that they have two provincial champions. From Nov. 10-12, ten Skate Yorkton athletes competed at the 2018 Skate Canada Saskatchewan Championships in Weyburn.

From Nov. 10-12, ten Skate Yorkton athletes competed at the 2018 Skate Canada Saskatchewan Championships in Weyburn.

Sydney Kotzer is the 2018 Skate Canada Saskatchewan Pre-Novice Champion.

Sydney also won the 2018 Pre-Novice Summer Series 252.35 points.

Nicki Nagy is the 2018 Skate Canada Saskatchewan Junior Champion.

Nicki finished second in the Summer Series , 341.95 points

Madison Bowtell placed second in the 2018 Skate Canada Saskatchewan Juvenile.Bowtell won the 2018 Juvenile Summer Series, 52.41 points.

Kaitlyn Klemetski Pre-Novice  Ladies tenth place.

Drew Martinook Juvenile U12 fourth place.

Maysen Zawada Juvenile U12 tenth place.

Emma Erickson Pre-Juvenile U11 tenth place.

Kensie Wawryk Pre-Juvenile U11 fourteenth place.

Hailey Haas Pre-Juvenile U11 fifteenth.

Addison Tribe Pre-Juvenile U11 seventeeth.

 

It was a great weekend for Skate Yorkton as every athlete posted a new personal best score.

Nicki Nagy & Sydney Kotzer both qualified for a spot at the 2018 Skate Canada Challenge Championships, Montreal Quebec Nov 28 -Dec 3, 2017.

For Kotzer, this is the National Championships where the Pre-Novice Champion of Canada will be crowned.

This event will host the top 50 Pre-Novice athletes in Canada.

For the Junior athletes, Skate Canada Challenge in the next qualifying round prior to Nationals in January. Montreal will see the top 42 athletes in Canada. Only the  top 18 will advance to the 2018 Skate Canada National Championships in Vancouver from January 8-14, 2018.
