Sun Hills Resort, on Lake of the Prairies near Togo, SK., is the newest disc golf course location in the region.

Sun Hills Resort, on Lake of the Prairies near Togo, SK., is the newest disc golf course location in the region.

The course becomes the 10th basket course in the Parkland Association of Disc Golf area, (courses within 125 kms radius of Yorkton), and the third course to install baskets this year, Churchbridge and Sandy Beach on Good Spirit Lake the others.

The new course is a nine basket lay-out, with Prodigy baskets.

Christine Zangl, with Sun Hills Resort said they wanted to add something to the resort that was available to virtually everyone.

“We wanted a family friendly game that wasboth fun and challenging for the people in our community, and I think we definitely achieved that,” she said.

Zangl said it was also a pleasant surprise how quickly the course came together.

“We were very surprised by how easy and quickly the design and installation came together,” she said.

The course was designed by Trevor Lyons and Calvin Daniels, with some preliminary help from Adam Daniels.

There are plans to add to the course moving forward too.

“We’re also looking forward to beautifying the course in the coming years,” said Zangl.

But, in the meantime residents are just happy to be out playing disc golf.

“Everyone in the community is very excited to have this course,” said Zangl. “Its beautiful scenery matched with a fun game.”

The official grand opening of the course will be Saturday, July 13.
