U18 AAA Expos drop one to Red Sox Friday

The Parkland U18 AAA Expos were handed an 8-5 defeat at the hands of the East Central U18 AAA Red Sox Friday. The home field Red Sox jumped to an early lead with a single run in the first inning, then added two in the fourth to lead 3-0.

The Expos had a big fifth inning scoring four to take the lead, only to see that lead evaporate in the bottom of the inning as the Red Sox scored three to regain the lead 6-4.

The Expos cut the lead in half with a run in the sixth, only to have the Red Sox add two of their own in the inning to round out the 8-5 contest.

Ethan Rueve was the winning pitcher for the Red Sox, allowing five hits and four runs over five innings, striking out one.

Ty Ulmer took the loss for the Expos as he allow e ight runs on ten hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking one.

The Expos had eight hits in the game. Ryan Rathgeber and Vinny Junek each had multiple hits with Rathgeber heading the way with three hits in four at bats.
